Children's Centre Outreach TrainingWe have been commissioned by the Children's Workforce Development Council to deliver training for practitioners engaged in outreach from children's centres. The training is designed to build on and develop the skills and capacity of outreach practitioners to provide an effective outreach service which meets the needs of diverse families and communities. We shall be delivering the "Families Going Forward" training course in six local authority areas. The training is free to qualifying participants. The course has been developed specifically for outreach practitioners by CWDC in partnership with the National Academy for Parenting Practitioners. It is based on unit 300 of the Work with Parents qualification. Practitioners could undertake further units (not funded) to gain a full Level 3 qualification. Eligibility criteriaPractitioners eligible for funding will be working (in a paid or voluntary capacity) to promote and ensure the health, safety and welfare of children through at least one of the following outreach roles and functions from children’s centres:
Priority will be given to those practitioners who do not have a level three qualification in Work with Parents. Geographical areas coveredWe will be delivering training in the following Local Authority areas. Those from other areas should refer to the CWDC web-site.
