Learner Initial Task

This Initial Task must be completed as part of the Application process. You must also complete the Application Form and sign and return the Learner Contract.

Task description

Discuss and reflect on a recent challenging experience of talking with parents, either in a group or individually.

Briefly outline the context of the discussion
How did you respond to the parent?
On reflection what did you do well?
In what ways could you have responded differently in order to improve the experience for the parents and/or for yourself?

(300-500 words)

Assessment criteria

The objectives of this task are:

to demonstrate your self-reflection abilities
for us to assess your writing skills
to act as a benchmark for the start of the course for candidates and we will return to this task mid-way through the course as a self-assessment measure of progression and learning
