Level 3 Award in First Line Management

OVERVIEW
The Award is a concise qualification which gives an introduction to the basic skills, knowledge and understanding required by today’s first line manager. The mandatory unit ‘Solving Problems and Making Decisions’ is designed to develop practical techniques for tackling managerial problems and making decisions from gathering and interpreting information through to the effective communication of outcomes.

PROGRESSION
The Award is stand-alone qualification made up of two mandatory units – ‘Understanding the management role’ and ‘Developing management skills’. The qualification has direct progression routes for a range of Level 5 qualifications in Leadership & Management, and prepares learners
for the more rigorous demands of study at a higher level.

TARGET AUDIENCE
The ILM Level 3 Award in First Line Management, ILM Level 3 Certificate in First Line Management, and ILM Level 3 Diploma in First Line Management are qualifications that have been specially designed to give practising or aspiring first line managers a solid foundation in their
formal development as a manager.

LEARNER OUTCOMES
Credit Value - Minimum 5 credits
Mandatory unit – M3.01 - Solving problems and making decisions (Credit value 2)
M3.11 - Building the team (Credit Value 1)
M3.18 - Coaching and training your work team (Credit Value 2)

COURSE LENGTH
Minimum 34 hours (over 8 evening sessions)
