Level 3 Award & Certificate Optional Unit (Unit 308)

There is now a lot of emphasis on qualification and quality standards in parent education so it is vital that parenting facilitators gain accreditation.
This course is generally delivered over 3 days and also requires learners to observe an experienced parenting facilitator, and complete a portfolio of evidence compiled whilst gaining hands on practice facilitating a parenting group.

'So you want to Run a Parenting Course? - Facilitator Skills' training supports any parenting programme. We aim to offer the training needed to enable parenting facilitators to run any parenting programme with confidence and professionalism, adapting style and sometimes materials to meet the specific needs of parents.
The course covers one unit of the Level 3 Work with Parents qualification and provides an opportunity for practitioners to achieve the Level 3 Award in Work with Parents (12 credits) build towards a Level 3 Certificate in Work with Parents (30 credits) accredited by City and Guilds:
- Unit 308 Work with Groups of Parents (three credits).
Where learners have already completed Unit 300. Build and Maintain Relationship with Parents, this three-day course can be adapted to also support learners to achieve one of the following units: - Unit 304 Effective Communication with Parents (three credits) OR
- Unit 306 Reflect on and update own knowledge and practice (three credits)
