Safeguarding Awareness for all Staff

OVERVIEW
This course can be delivered as single agency or multi-agency and should be refreshed every 3 years. Understand the importance of ensuring children and young people’s safety and protection in the work setting. Understand how to respond to evidence or concerns that a child or young person has been abused, harmed or bullied. Understand the importance of working in partnership with other organisations to safeguard children and young people.

TARGET AUDIENCE
Those in regular contact or have a period of intense but irregular contact with Children, young people and/or parents/carers Including all health clinical staff, who may be in a position to identify concerns about maltreatment including those that may arise from the use of CAF.
For example, housing, hospital staff, YOT staff and Staff in secure settings, the police other than those in specialist child protection roles, sports development officers, disability specialists, faith groups, community youth groups, play scheme volunteers.
 

LEARNER OUTCOMES
By the end of the course participants will: Understand the main legislation, guidelines, policies and procedures for safeguarding children
and young people.
