Project Management

SMILE in Central Bedfordshire PDF Print E-mail

SMILE [http://www.smileinschool.org.uk] is a Central Bedfordshire Council pilot project to deliver targeted mental health in three school clusters – Holmemead, Alameda and Hawthorn.

A team around the school cluster has been created to provide direct services, support and information to improve mental health provision for young people.

SMILE includes basic awareness and raising end communication (Universal) support groups, counselling and other targeted interventions (Targeted) and support requiring input form expertise (Specialist).

The SMILE project also aims to build cultural resilience in young people, and the wider population around schools, to quip them to deal with different pressures and issues throughout their lives.

SMILE is managed by a dedicated project board consisting of senior teachers from the three cluster groups, project managers from Family Matters Institute and Central Bedfordshire Council representation. There is also a wider steering group comprising a more diverse range of stakeholders.

SMILE is just one example of Family Matters Institute's Project Management and Consultancy options.
