Parenting

The Family Matters Institute (FMI) has been in existence since 1998, moving from an initiative of Rev Dr Clifford Hill to a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee.

The charity's registered office is situated at Moggerhanger Park in Bedfordshire, a Grade 1 listed former home of the Thornton family, cousins of William Wilberforce.

Family Matters Institute

  • Research
  • Training and resourcing organisations & individuals working with children, young people and families
  • Direct work with children and families

These activities span faith, voluntary, community, statutory and corporate sectors, and operate at local, regional and national levels.

The foundation of the FMI's work is a focus on the family, areas of greatest need and pain often stemming from family breakdown.

Research continues to consider what is happening to the family in today's culture, its affect on children and young people and from a Christian perspective what can be done to support, improve and sustain healthy families.

Projects have developed within parenting, fatherhood, mental health, family finances, workforce development and marriage & couple relationships.

Research undergirds project development, combing Christian based insight into the work with empirical evidence.

FMI has gained an excellent reputation for its training, services and research work; which we hope this site will provide you some insight into.
